IDB’s capital raised to $150 billion

Dushanbe, Wednesday, 12 Rajab 1434/22 May 2013 (IINA) – The 38th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), which concluded in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, today has taken the landmark decision to increase the bank’s capital from $45 billion to $150 billion. Addressing a press conference at the end of the two-day meeting, IDB President Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ali also said that the meeting decided to suspend the membership of Syria.

Dushanbe, Tuesday, 11 Rajab 1434/21 May 2013 (IINA) – Tajikistan President Emomalii Rahmon opened the 38th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, today. In his speech, Rahmon called on Muslim countries to strengthen cooperation to achieve their development goals and realize economic growth for their peoples. He said that Tajikistan was able to bring down percentage of poverty from 38 to 7.8, and realized a growth rate of 4.8 percent until last year.
